Week 33

Solving Water Problems in Tonga and Collaborating to Improve Health Care in Tonga

30 March 2025

Hello Everyone. It's hard to believe we are closing out March and beginning April. Time is flying somewhere, I'm not sure where.

We thought we would share a couple of the articles we posted on the Pacific Church Newsroom last month to show you what we are asked to write. (This maybe a boring post, but hey, it's what we do.)  This style of writing is very different than what most people learn in school. It has been an education and we often require a few drafts to get it the way our Area Newsroom manager requires.

We decided to take a road trip to Cathedral Cove to celebrate our Birthdays. Kelly doesn't splurge on dessert very often.

As we were walking around the town by Cathedral Cove I saw this sign. So appropriate, I had to take a picture.

We got caught in the rain and had to hide in a little cave until it slowed to a drizzle. We ended up hiking up and out 40 minute as it drizzled. Very obnoxious.

We know we have said this a number of times, but New Zealand really is a beautiful place.   We can feel that summer is staring to fade as the nights become cool and we are getting more rain.

Today in church, a young women spoke about her first time going to the temple to do baptisms for the dead.   She was obviously very nervous.  Just before ending her talk, she chose to sing, "I love to see the temple."   Her voice was very soft as she started to sing.  Her first few words were a bit shakey, and then without any prompting a few inspired mothers in the congregations ever so quietly started to sing with her.   That gave her confidence and by the end of the first verse most of the congregation was singing quietly with her.   It was a tender moment, and the spirit was strong.  At the end of the song, the young women with a huge smile on her face said, "I love yous all (yes that is spelled correctly and that is how they say it here).  It was a wonderful moment filled with the spirit. I love this gospel of Jesus Christ and what does for those that follow Him.

We love you and miss you.
