Week 63 Giving Machine Filming & Mission Breakfasts 26 October 2025 It was a great week. Once again we experienced a plethora of different activities. This place is always hopping. The Hanceys, our counter parts, were out of town this week so we covered it all and kept the interns busy.  We started the week by preparing talking points and a Powerpoint presentation for Elder Wakolo. He is traveling to India and has been invited to speak for an hour about our religion and the connection between Fiji and India (they have a long history together).  It was interesting to do all the research and prepare the bones of the talk/presentation for Elder Wakolo. I am sure he will do a great job despite our contribution. Sister Shaw works hard at managing the Church Newsroom Facebook page. It's like feeding a animal, constant!!! After creating the post, because it is a Church sponsored channel, every message need to go through the channels committee and then Church correlation. Sh...

Week 62 YSA Activity, Barking Dog Festival, and Mutton 19 October 2025 Hello everyone. Great week this week. It's beautiful outside! If you have every wondered what a YSA FHE looks like in NZ, now you know.  Great people having a good time.  We love the fact that they do such a good job of including everyone and they really work at making everyone feel included.  Now if we can just get them married. Minute to win it. This ward is unusual. There are more guys that attend the activities than girls. Amy Jaggi, is the wife of Elder Jeremy Jaggi who spoke in conference a few weeks ago.  Such a wonderful person full of energy and the spirit.  We love our city, Takapuna. You never know what is going to be going on in the city center. This week it was Dog Mania. Why not have Santa Clause at Dog Mania?  Oddly enough, we are so surprised at how low-key NZ is about holidays and especially Christmas.  It is rather refreshing to have it be much less commercia...

Week 61 Area Council & Dragon's Eye 12 October 2025 We learned a lot this week about Church communication protocol when a prophet passes away.   It is always interesting to watch the internal workings of the Church during such events.  One of the blessings of our mission assignment is that we get to work with so many departments and people in the Church.  It is a testimony building experience to watch how it all works and see the Lord's hand as the work moves forward.  FYI, not that we think anyone is counting but 14 months down and 4 to go. Kahoot family night. Everyone sent in a baby picture and a little-known-history-fact about themselves no one else knows.  The Couchs put all that information into Kahoot. We had about 18 couples attend and it was a Ka-"hoot'.:)   Learned a lot of interesting things about our senior missionaries!   I tried a new fruit today. It's called longan fruit or dragon's eye fruit. I totally get it. I...

Week 60 Missed Family Reunion and Channels Committee 6 October 2025 Dear Family and Friends. Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Ok, bad news is Elder Shaw and I missed my sibling reunion in Bear Lake. It was hard to miss their fun activities, great conversations, and watching the BYU game together. They even took a picture together but you can see that we were not forgotten. Even though there are many things we miss out on,  the good news is we know we need to be here and we are happy. It's an interesting to have such conflicting emotions. This is my new favorite breakfast, pancakes with chocolate protein sauce and blueberries.  The "Tunnel of Love". :)  After sitting all day, every night we walk Takapuna town. It's such a cute town. I've said it before but it reminds me of an small California costal town. We walk to the market, to the beach, to the office, and to the restaurants. We drive on weekend to see sights. It looks like we are working on a...
